This 22 Karat gold ‘shield’‘ originated in India but the design is British .The Brits had colonized India and China in the 1850s and on for decades. They recognized the amazing craftmanship available in both countries. As a result they took their western designs and had they made in both countries. I found 4 different designs made in 22 karat gold and was blown away but the quality. I copied the designs, all shields, and have used them sparingly. I made earrings out of those original shields. They have served me well so it’s time to let the originals go!
