Tanzanite is a very scarce gemstone. It comes almost exclusively from one mine in Northern Tanzania and it’s close to being depleted. It was recently discovered in the 1960’s and Chanel was the company that introduced it to the market. Up until then it was a guarded secret because of its rarity. Because there is one source for this gemstone and it’s mined to almost nothing it has great value.

I mixed this Tanzanite with Imperial Kyanite so it’s a beautiful mix of periwinkle and deep blue.

The AAA quality Quartz is cut in an interesting way with a ‘seam’ down the center of the drop and step faceted radiating from the center.

This is a lot of info for a little pair of earrings but they are special.
