This glass button is unusual for it’s size. Most likely from the 1930’s. It mimics a Pools of Light Quartz orb but at half the price. I’ve never seen a button as large as this.

The gold ‘shield’ was something I cast from a 22 karat gold piece that came from India.

England colonized India and China in the 1800’s. They recognized the craftmanship in each country so took their western designs to be made and imported back to England. The skill in both countries with jewelry was unsurpassed. They also had quite a bit of embroidery done on linens and petticoats. These shields are a result of that Western design.
