This glass button is unusual for it’s size. Most likely the 1930’s. It mimics a Pools of Light Quartz orb but half the price.. I’ve never seen a button like this as large as it is.

The gold ‘shield’ was something I cast from 22 karat gold ones that came from India. (No where else in the world sells 14 karat gold)

England colonized India and China in the 1800’s. They recognized the craftmanship in each country so took their western designs to be made and imported back to England. The skill in both countries with jewelry was unsurpassed. They also had quite a bit of embroidery done on linens and petticoats.
