I had this locket engraved with the word “illume,” meaning to illuminate or glow from within. Tourmaline comes in many colors, but pink is the most sought after, partly due to its hue, but also because it’s the least common in the family of colors.

The locket opens if you want to keep a little lock of hair from your child or grandchild.
